[Regnum] A hunter died after a bear attack in the Tomsk region. The regional Investigative Committee's press service reported this on May 28.
According to investigators, the incident occurred on May 27 in the Teguldetsky district.
"The man was in the forest hunting when he was attacked by a bear. He died at the scene from his injuries," the department clarified.
The Investigative Committee is investigating the circumstances of the incident. Investigators have ordered a forensic examination. Based on the results of the investigation, the agency will make a procedural decision.
Other cases of bear attacks on people have been reported previously. For example, in late April, a man died in a bear attack in the village of Myla in Komi. According to a resident of the village, on April 24, the man went out to collect firewood when the bear attacked him. She noted that the victim managed to reach home but died before paramedics arrived.
