Text: The Muslim Brotherhood is making a comeback in Sudan. The UAE has uncovered a weapon smuggling network masterminded by Salah Gosh, fmr director of Sudan’s intelligence agency NISS under the previous Bashir regime Gosh is an Islamist who has been setting up Eritrean islamist military training camps and offered to provide thousands of Islamists fighters to the Sudanese Armed Forces. He knows the fighters from his time as an Islamist agent of Hassan al-Turabi’s National Islamic Front (MB-allied). He started his career with intelligence gathering as an Islamist student at the University of Khartoum in the late 1970, passing on information to the Islamists about his socialist friends who were student activists at the university.
