[Regnum] Despite the challenges, Russia remains a stable food supplier and will continue to fulfill its obligations to its partners. This was stated by Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut on May 22.
"It's critical for us to maintain supply stability and our place in global food security. I'm confident that the Russian grain market will meet this challenge," the Minister of Agriculture said at the plenary session of the 5th All-Russian Grain Forum in Sochi.
She recalled that by the end of 2025, the grain harvest had increased by 11% to 144.6 million tons. The minister noted that farmers' hard work has made it possible to fully supply the domestic market and maintain significant export potential. Luth added that Russia plans to export approximately 60 million tons of grain this season, maintaining its leadership as a global wheat exporter.
Currently, Russian grain is exported to more than 100 countries, accounting for approximately 20% of global wheat exports. The Middle East, Africa, and Asia remain key destinations, the Minister of Agriculture concluded.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev reported that Russia's grain yields increased by 10% in 2025. Wheat has become Russia's main crop, he noted. Russian grain remains in demand abroad, and export revenues continue to grow, the Deputy Prime Minister added.
President Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia is one of the main suppliers of food to the global market. High-quality Russian products are popular in many countries, he noted.
