[Regnum] The Solar Orbiter spacecraft detected three high-level X-ray flares in a supercenter of activity on the far side of the Sun. This was reported on May 19 by the press service of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The laboratory noted that the flares' energy is currently focused on Mercury. There are currently no other planets closer to Uranus on this side of the Sun.
According to incoming images of the far side of the Sun, the flares have partially destroyed and simplified the sunspot group in which they occurred. Because of this, the chances that the active region will persist until it rotates toward Earth have begun to diminish.
Experts expect this region to appear in the field of view of ground-based telescopes by the weekend. After that, it will become clear how powerful the solar center of activity remains.
The day before, laboratory head Sergei Bogachev told Regnum News Agency that the risk of powerful magnetic storms due to the giant sunspot group on the far side of the Sun is currently minimal. The scientist explained that flares could occur in positions that pose no threat to Earth, and by the time the region enters the planet's influence zone, its energy will likely have exhausted. The forecast could worsen if the sunspot group retains its energy reserves by May 25.
