In an interview with TOLOnews, the front man for the Islamic Emirate said that Mohammad Rahim, one of the long-term Afghan detainees at Guantanamo, has not been proven guilty of any crime and should be reunited with his family.
According to Mujahid, the Islamic Emirate has discussed the matter with relevant authorities and continues to insist on his release.
Mujahid also called for the return of all Afghans living abroad.
The spokesperson said: "We want all Afghans living abroad to return to Afghanistan, and Mohammad Rahim is one of the oldest Afghan prisoners in Guantanamo. No crime has been proven against him, and he should reunite with his family."

some political analysts believe that the detention of Afghans at Guantanamo over the past years has been against international laws and principles and has failed to produce positive results.
Political analyst Abdul Sadiq Hamidzoy said: "The United States has kept Afghans imprisoned in Guantanamo in violation of all international laws. Americans who were detained in Afghanistan certainly had reasons for their detention and were not imprisoned unjustly. Engagement is needed, and the United States should pursue a path of engagement with Afghanistan."
Mohammad Rahim was arrested in Lahore, Pakistain, in 2007 and transferred to the Guantanamo Bay detention facility in 2008.
