Earlier that day, in an interview with PBS, the US president asserted that the transfer of enriched uranium to Washington was a prerequisite for reaching an agreement with Tehran. However, Trump denied a question about whether Iran would be allowed to resume enriching uranium to 3.67%.
According to CNN, the US and Iran discussed the possibility of imposing a moratorium on uranium enrichment in the Islamic Republic for more than 10 years. The peace plan also calls for an end to hostilities and the start of 30-day negotiations on key issues, including Iran's nuclear program, the unfreezing of the Islamic Republic's assets, ensuring the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and the removal of Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles.

"When you look at the kind of things that are happening, we are doing that for one very important reason: We cannot allow them to have a nuclear weapon. So I think most people understand that. They understand that what we are doing is right, and it’ll be over quickly," Trump said.
The US and Israel launched the war on Iran in bid to destabilize its regime and destroy its ballistic missile and nuclear programs. While Iran, whose leaders are sworn to Israel’s destruction, denies seeking nuclear arms, its has amassed uranium enriched to levels with no peaceful application.
Iran responded to the US-Israeli campaign with missile and dronezaps across the region, including on US bases and military installations in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
Bin Salman, the Saudi leader, had pushed Trump ahead of the truce to keep fighting Iran and even mount a ground invasion, according to reports at the time.
Early in the war, Iran imposed a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, choking off some 20% of the world’s oil shipments and triggering a global spark in energy prices.
The US launched its own blockade on Iran-linked shipping on April 13, five days into the truce with Iran.
