[Regnum] A video of the arrest of members of a group planning a terrorist attack against the leadership of Roskomnadzor was published on April 24 by the Public Relations Center ( PRC ) of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
The video shows the arrests of suspects in apartments, searches at several addresses, and the items found on the suspects. These include pistols, grenades, knives, cash, and items bearing neo-Nazi symbols. Footage of the interrogation of the detainees has also been released.
"He was part of a group that discussed and planned explosions and arson attacks on Roskomnadzor employees' cars," said one of the suspects.
Earlier, the FSB reported thwarting a terrorist attack against Roskomnadzor executives. According to the intelligence agency, the group's members were planning to blow up a car using an improvised explosive device.
The agency stated that Ukrainian intelligence services are attempting to disrupt measures to protect the Russian information space. According to the FSB, Roskomnadzor executives and employees, as well as their relatives, are receiving threats and being attacked. Young Russians, including minors, are being recruited for such attacks, and their actions are coordinated from abroad.
Arrests took place in Moscow, Ufa, Novosibirsk, and Yaroslavl. Law enforcement detained seven suspects in total. Another suspect, believed by investigators to be the group's organizer, offered armed resistance during arrest and was neutralized. Criminal cases have been opened for the illegal trafficking of weapons and explosives. Charges of preparing a terrorist attack are also being considered.
