Scientists noted that, according to simultaneous X-ray flux measurements, the Sun experienced its first M-class flare in two weeks, with an M1.65 magnitude. The last event of this class was observed on April 9.
The laboratory clarified that the increasing solar activity, "as they say, is visible without a microscope." Experts called the powerful explosion that occurred this morning very spectacular. It appeared in space telescope images around 8:00 AM Moscow time. The event occurred on the left edge of the Sun. For Earth, it is considered neutral.
"The flash appears to have been a double one. With careful observation, a synchronized explosion can be discerned in the bright region to the left, separated from the first by about a million kilometers," the experts added.
On March 13, the Sun experienced its first strong solar flare in three weeks, lasting approximately 20 minutes. The event was classified as M1.2, where M denotes a moderate-power flare, as opposed to C (weak) and X (extreme) classes. Maximum emission was reached at 12:55 PM Moscow time.
