Text: Reports of growing Islamist influence in military continue to raise serious concerns. Sudanese army chief of staff Yasser Al-Atta is reportedly considering integrating the U.S.-designated terrorist Al-Baraa Ibn Malik Brigade into the armed forces. No concrete steps yet—but Al-Atta has praised the group, raising concerns of deepening Islamist influence. The brigade, linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, was designated by the U.S. in Sept 2025 and is accused of Iran IRGC-backed support and mass executions of civilians. |
