Nigerian Army personnel successfully ambushed the group along the Luma Babana route in Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State. Resulting in the deaths of numerous terror!sts.

The surviving fighters attempted to escape in the direction of the Benin border, only to face another assau1t from Benin Army units, which received aerial support from a French aircraft. This follow up operation caused further heavy losses among the militants.
An internet search shows a bunch of local articles on the attack dated March 23 and 24, 2026, some identifying the miscreants as bandits. See here, for instance.
