[Regnum] A moderate-intensity magnetic storm of G2 intensity will hit Central Russia in the next 48 hours. This was reported on April 17 by Yevgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center.
"Space weather will occur in the next 48 hours. Due to the high-speed solar wind, a moderate-intensity magnetic storm of level G2 is predicted," Tishkovets told RIA Novosti.
He also added that the Earth is slowly but surely moving towards one of the most active geomagnetic periods of the year.
On April 14, a large plasma ejection occurred on the Sun, heading toward Venus. The Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences clarified that the source was an active region on the far side of the star.
