She noted that the organization's jurisdiction is being blatantly abused to make patently absurd claims against Russia.
"Unfortunately, the court (UN – Ed.) has recently become the arena of a 'legal war,' " Zakharova was quoted as saying on the Foreign Ministry's website in connection with the 80th anniversary of the International Court of Justice.
On April 13, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova noted that reports from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) provide limited coverage of violations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).
On April 16, Moskalkova described the UN's response to the torture of prisoners in Ukraine as weak. She announced that she was sending information to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights regarding instances of violence and gross violations of the Geneva Conventions against Russian prisoners of war and civilians in Ukraine.
