Al-Shabaab Faces Operational Setbacks in Mogadishu and Inside Kenya

Emerging intelligence from within Al-Shabaab’s senior leadership
Somebody is getting intelligence from within the Al Shabaab inner circle? Is it Mahmoud the Weasel’s fourth cousin 72 times removed or that Shifty Eyed Mohammad who’s been spilling the beans? indicates that the group has acknowledged significant disruptions to its operational networks in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, as well as within Kenya. These setbacks follow sustained and coordinated counterterrorism pressure from Somali and Kenyan security agencies.
Israel has longstanding ties with Kenya going back to the early 20th century, and new but tight relations with Somaliland, so Mossad could be getting up to all sorts of shenanigans in aid of that.
The group has reportedly undertaken internal restructuring, particularly within its Amniyat apparatus in the Banaadir region, which is responsible for targeted assassinations and improvised explosive device, IED, operations.
