[Regnum] Two hundred people were killed in a Nigerian air strike on a village market in Yobe State in northeastern Nigeria. Reuters reported this on April 12, citing local council members and residents.
"At least 200 people are believed to have been killed when Nigerian warplanes struck a village market while pursuing Islamist militants in the country's northeast," the publication said.
The Nigerian Air Force announced that it had struck Boko Haram (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) positions in the Gilli area of Borno State. No strike on the market was reported.
The Yobe State government clarified that the airstrike struck an area near the Gilli Market. Some shoppers and vendors were injured.
Extremist groups, including ISIS (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) and Boko Haram, are active in Nigeria. They operate primarily in the country's northern and central states, attacking Christian communities, kidnapping pastors, committing arson, and murder.

Troops arrest teenage iswap logistics courier in ngamdu, link suspect to Jilli strikes

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have arrested a 15-year-old suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) logistics courier in Ngamdu, Borno, linking him to recent terrorist attacks and ongoing military airstrikes on insurgent enclaves in the Jilli axis.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, identified as Tijjani, was apprehended on Sunday while allegedly attempting to procure logistics for insurgent fighters operating within the Ngamdu–Benisheik corridor.
According to the sources, the suspect confessed during preliminary interrogation that he participated in the attacks on Benisheik and Ngamdu carried out on Thursday.
“My name is Tijjani, I am 15 years old. I was arrested today in Ngamdu. I was among the terrorists that attacked Benisheik and Ngamdu,” the source quoted him as saying.
