[Regnum] Sleet and colder temperatures are expected in Moscow on April 9 and 10. Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, shared this forecast with Regnum News Agency on April 7.
"According to forecasts, a northeastern precipitation zone is approaching Moscow on Thursday, April 9. The precipitation will mostly take the form of wet snow. This zone is quite extensive and will extend into Friday, April 10. Snow is expected," the forecaster noted.
According to Shuvalov, along with the precipitation, colder weather will arrive in the capital.
"With a northeasterly wind, temperatures won't be very high. It's unlikely to rise above 3 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday. These will be the coldest, most stormy, and most unpleasant days. Wednesday, April 8, won't be like that, but Thursday and Friday will be the coldest and snowiest," the meteorologist noted.
Snow won't linger in Moscow for long. No precipitation is expected as early as Saturday, April 11.
"At the same time, pressure is rising, and the influence of the Scandinavian anticyclone is intensifying, so Saturday and Sunday will be dry. While light frosts down to -3°C are still possible on Saturday morning, highs of up to 8°C are expected during the day on April 11. Sunday, April 12, will be even better: highs of 11–13°C. We only need to get through Thursday and Friday, and the weather will improve over the weekend," Shuvalov concluded.
On April 7, Yevgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, announced that 1–2 cm of snow would form in the capital on Thursday. On Friday, freezing temperatures will cause icy roads overnight.
Shuvalov previously warned that April and March would switch places in Moscow. Starting on April 6, sunny weather will shift to cloudy and cooler conditions, with rain also expected.
