Envoy Nickolay Mladenov is pushing forward with Trump’s plan despite skepticism from mediators. Hamas has not rejected the proposal but is “unlikely to say ‘yes’ without significant caveats,” while Israel may also resist compliance. The plan requires dismantling tunnels, surrendering weapons, and transitioning control to a technocratic body, with reconstruction only in demilitarized areas. Mladenov warned: “He who will not cross the river will drown in the sea.” |
