[Regnum] The Lebanese Hezbollah movement announced a missile strike on an Israeli Navy warship in Lebanese waters. This was reported on April 5 by the Lebanese satellite television channel Al-Manar.
Hezbollah said in a statement that the Israeli ship was preparing to strike Lebanon.
"Islamic Resistance fighters attacked an Israeli warship 68 nautical miles off the coast of Lebanon, preparing to launch attacks on Lebanese territory. The strike was carried out with a naval cruise missile after several hours of target surveillance," the statement said.
There has been no official comment from the Israeli side yet.
On March 12, Hezbollah announced the launch of a military operation against Israel, dubbed "Operation Eaten Eagle." On that day, the group fired at least 100 rockets into Israeli territory, injuring two people.
