[Regnum] Three people were killed and three more were injured during the dispersal of a protest by supporters of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Hadramaut province in eastern Yemen. A local government source told reporters on April 4.
As a RIA Novosti source clarified, security forces and military personnel dispersed an unauthorized protest in the city of Al-Mukalla, the administrative center of Hadhramaut province.
Live ammunition was used to disperse the demonstration; three protesters were killed and three more were injured.
In December 2025, Yemeni authorities declared a 90-day state of emergency due to a rebel uprising led by the STC, which is backed by the UAE. These measures were introduced to counter the ongoing coup d'état that had been going on since 2014, as well as the outbreak of a rebel uprising backed by the UAE.
