Text: Troops neutralise terrorist, destroy hideout in Kebbi operation By: Zagazola Makama Troops under ongoing security operations have neutralised a suspected terrorist and destroyed a criminal hideout during a fighting patrol in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State. Security sources said the operation followed earlier aerial intelligence missions that identified terrorist locations and movements within remote communities. According to the sources, troops of CSI Battalion III and 223 Battalion conducted a coordinated fighting patrol on March 30, clearing Mairairai, Dan Makarawa, Yar Maitaba and Kaboro villages. “The troops made contact with the terrorists at Yar Maitaba and Kaboro villages and engaged them in a firefight, forcing them to flee,” the source said. The sources added that one terrorist was neutralised during the encounter, while five motorcycles used by the criminals were destroyed. More at the link |
