Not only did P&G turn their hand to manufacturing bullets during WWII for the American war effort, but when I worked (briefly) at P&G in the 1980s, one of the projects I worked on was to upgrade the formula and manufacturing process of a speciality toothpaste made by a company we had just absorbed. Six months later the formula was somewhat less expensive on the raw material side (without impacting effectiveness) and, as I recall, the manufacturing process put out twice as many tubes of toothpaste per unit time without requiring any upgrades of the equipment, just by having the factory team walk us through their current process. |
