[Regnum] Three criminal cases have been opened in Chelyabinsk following an attack on a school. The press service of the regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported this on March 26
The investigation will be conducted under articles on attempted murder of two or more persons (Part 3 of Article 30, Subparagraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), negligence (Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of citizens (Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to investigators, a 15-year-old student at a school in Chelyabinsk's Leninsky District fired an object resembling a flare gun at a classmate's face. After the attack, he attempted to flee.
Investigators and forensic experts are examining the scene of the crime and determining the causes of the attack.
The incident occurred on the morning of March 26. A teenager brought a plastic crossbow, pepper spray, and a flare pistol into the school building, which he used to shoot a classmate. The ninth-grader then fell out of the fourth-floor lounge window and sustained injuries.
The attacker also managed to spray pepper spray. The students complained of a sore throat. According to the mother of one of the students, the children barricaded themselves in their classroom for some time. The children were later released to go home.
According to a REN TV source, five people were injured in the attack. The Ministry of Health reported that two teenagers—the attacker and his peer—were taken to the hospital. Their lives are out of danger.
