Text: This footage of JAS terrorists holding prayers in the Mandara Mountains highlights the very real and growing threat Nigeria faces from militant groups that are expanding in numbers. The Mandara Mountains and the Tumbuns of Lake Chad are the two critical strategic enclaves for Boko Haram and ISWAP. The rugged terrain of the Mandara Mountains serves as a fortified sanctuary for the Boko Haram (JAS) faction. The mountain peaks reaches 1,300 meters, provide natural cover from ground attacks. The NAF has conducted multiple airstrikes on fortified enclaves in Degbewa, Chinene, Wa Jahode, and Loghpere. These strikes specifically targeted hardened positions that had been serving as key hubs for bomb making activities. More at the link |
