[Regnum] A suicide drone carrying explosives was intercepted and shot down over a US military base near the airport in Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan. Reuters reported this on March 17.
Security service sources clarified that there were no reports of possible casualties.
It was also reported that at least three drones attacked the US Embassy in Baghdad, with an explosion heard near the diplomatic mission. The drones were preliminarily intercepted and shot down by air defense systems.
Earlier, Glen Diesen, a professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway, reported that the Iranian army attacked the largest US embassy in Baghdad on the night of March 17.

On March 16, several powerful explosions occurred near the Al Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad, which houses government buildings and the embassies of several foreign countries. The area was targeted by a drone; there were no casualties. Drones also attacked an American diplomatic facility near Baghdad Airport, as well as the American military base Victoria, where a fire subsequently broke out.
