Both articles from a few days ago provide information I’ve not seen elsewhere. [WTVR] The gunman in the Old Dominion University shooting, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, …36, naturalized citizen of Sierra Leone, killed one in his second try for the glory of ISIS in a ROTC classroom in Old Dominion before the students killed him with their bare hands (and a knife)… had also been enrolled at ODU at the time of the shooting.Jalloh was admitted to ODU in fall 2006 as a freshman and had been enrolled through Spring 2013, an ODU official told Scripps News Group in Norfolk. Jalloh pleaded guilty in October 2016 of attempting to provide material support to ISIS, known at the time as ISIL, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, according to CBS. Jalloh admitted to trying to donate money to ISIL and commit a domestic attack in its name. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison, but was released early in December 2024, according to CBS News. …about 2 1/2 years early. The ODU official said Jalloh reenrolled at ODU in summer 2025. It was directly confirmed that he was a current student at the time of Thursday's shooting.I saw it claimed yesterday that the ROTC class he invaded was being trained that day on bayonets, which would explain the report he was stabbed 22 times. Person Arrested for Supplying Gun to Old Dominion Shooter [Breitbart] On Friday, the Justice Department charged Kenya Chapman for allegedly selling 36-year-old Mohamed Bailor Jalloh a gun, even though Jalloh had a felony that barred him from gun ownership. Breitbart News noted that Jalloh was arrested on July 3, 2016, “for attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.” In 2017, he was convicted and sentenced to 11 years in prison. Jalloh entered a classroom Thursday and asked if the students in it were members of ROTC. When they answered in the affirmative he began shooting and said “Allah Akbar” and he commenced the attack.
