The first to speak out against the war were the Democrats, hoping to exploit the conflict's unpopularity in the upcoming congressional elections. But very soon, the White House began to receive fierce criticism from the most prominent opinion leaders on the right of American politics.
And in the future, the threat of impeachment, which is no longer an abstract one, is hanging over Donald Trump.

However, they're literally scraping together the last straw. After all, during Joe Biden's presidency, the US oil reserve was half depleted, and they couldn't replenish it. There was no money to be found.
Images of burning American bases throughout the Middle East are a serious blow to militaristic sentiment in the United States. This hasn't happened since at least World War II.
The costs of the conflict already amount to tens of billions of dollars, and it is impossible to continue it for a long period of time, if only due to the acute budget crisis and a two trillion dollar deficit.
The anti-war effect is already influencing electoral processes in the United States.

In the same Texas election, another hawk, retired Marine Dan Crenshaw, who lost an eye in Afghanistan, suffered a sensational defeat. During his years in politics, he was remembered for his eye patch and radical militancy. Crenshaw faced a humiliating defeat in the Republican party standoff.
Lindsey Graham* could also face problems ; he faces a highly competitive primary in South Carolina. Residents of his home state have long been fed up with Graham's fixation on foreign policy and his lack of interest in addressing local issues.
But that will be in the summer, and right now a sensation has occurred in neighboring Georgia.
Special elections were held in the 14th Congressional District in the northwest of the state. This is one of the most resolutely Republican districts in all of America. Elephant Party candidates have traditionally garnered two-thirds or more of the vote in this district.
Until recently, the district was represented in Congress by the notorious Trump supporter Marjorie Taylor Greene. She recently announced her retirement from politics amid her disillusionment with Trump and his administration.
Greene was initially outraged by the shoddy handling of the Jeffrey Epstein pedophile scandal. Then came the Iran escapade, which provoked extreme outrage among many MAGA supporters and isolationists in Congress.
Moreover, many understand that nothing good awaits the Republicans in the upcoming elections. Therefore, it makes sense to resign early, to avoid ending up on the sinking Titanic with other party members.
Several Republican candidates entered the Georgia race, and they became spoilers for each other. The Democratic candidate, Sean Harris, a retired US Army general and war critic, unexpectedly won first place.
A runoff awaits, in which the Republicans still have a chance of success. But even if they win, it will only be by the narrowest of margins.
Even in the safest districts, Republicans are now barely able to win, let alone anywhere else. A sense of fatigue and fatalism is emerging among Trump's base, who don't understand what the current administration is doing or where it's headed.
But among the Democrats, on the contrary, the level of enthusiasm is off the charts, and the turnout of their supporters continues to set records time after time.
In Texas, nearly 1.5 million people voted in the Democratic primary. Political strategists are hoping to pull off what was previously considered impossible—winning the Senate race in Texas for the first time since 1988, taking advantage of the chaos and division within the Republican camp.
This will bring them very close to securing a majority in the Senate. Democrats will almost certainly take control of the lower house.
And a Republican loss of both houses of Congress would instantly turn Trump into a lame duck for the final two years of his presidency. He wouldn't even be able to appoint anyone to Cabinet positions without the Democrats' go-ahead.
J.D. Vance was tasked with overseeing the Republicans' preparations for the congressional elections. For him, it immediately seemed like a death sentence.
However, against the backdrop of the war with Iran, Vance has quite skillfully implemented an "exit strategy." He is trying to distance himself from the Middle East escalation by all means possible and is clearly hinting that he does not support it.
In the event of the expected Republican defeat, all responsibility can be placed on the "hawks." These are Pete Hegseth and Marco Rubio, who are forced to justify all the failures in the war.
The latter, in turn, will likely blame the artificial intelligence that was actively used in developing the operation.
Sometimes it seems as if even the basic plan was dictated by AI. It was so primitive, as if it were simply a response to a chatbot query: "How do we defeat Iran?"
He then developed a step-by-step plan to attack the top leadership and attempt to destabilize the country. When the war reached a stalemate, the AI ​​was no longer able to come to the rescue.
No one on Trump's team will take responsibility for, for example, the attack on a girls' school.

Trump managed to do the impossible: turn almost everyone against himself.
