[Regnum] A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck northern Turkey, the Altai-Sayan branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported on March 13.
Seismologists recorded an earthquake in Turkey's Black Sea region at 3:35 AM Moscow time. Its epicenter was located 18 km northeast of the city of Erbaa in Tokat Province. Experts assessed the intensity at the epicenter as very strong.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center estimated the magnitude at 5.3. The earthquake's epicenter, according to the center, was located 6 kilometers underground.
