[Regnum] Tajik citizen Kudrat Kurbonov was found guilty of justifying the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow online and sentenced to six years in prison. The First Western District Military Court handed down the verdict, law enforcement officials reported on March 13.
A criminal case was opened against the foreigner under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Public justification of terrorism"). The convicted man will serve the first three years of his sentence in prison, and the remainder in a maximum-security penal colony, TASS reported.
The suspect was arrested in late November 2025 and, by court order, sent to pretrial detention. He admitted his guilt. According to investigators, in March 2024, Kurbonov published several messages on the Telegram messaging app, justifying the terrorists who attacked the Crocus customers.
The source clarified that the man came to Russia to work in August 2025. He admitted to being a supporter of ISIS (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) and wanted to "fight the infidels."
