This is putting foreign diplomatic missions and consulates in the region at risk. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, commenting on the March 8 attack on the Russian Consulate General in Isfahan, Iran.

"Windows were shattered in the office building and residential apartments, and several employees were thrown back by the blast wave. Fortunately, there were no casualties or serious injuries," Zakharova said in a statement on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' website.
The Russian diplomat emphasized that attacks on diplomatic and consular missions are a flagrant violation of the fundamental documents of international law: the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963.
"We demand that all parties strictly respect the inviolability of diplomatic facilities and refrain from any attacks on the safety, life, and health of their personnel. We call on the parties to the conflict to immediately end the military confrontation and return to the negotiating table," concluded Maria Zakharova.
Azerbaijani authorities previously decided to withdraw their diplomatic personnel from Iran. This applies to both the embassy in Tehran and the consulate general in Tabriz.
