Text: NIGERIA, BENIN JOIN FORCES TO COMBAT CROSS-BORDER TERRORISM Military officials from Nigeria and Benin have finalized plans for a joint security operation along their shared border, targeting jihadist groups spreading from the Sahel into coastal West Africa. High-ranking counterterrorism officials met in Cotonou on February 27 to draft a military memorandum. The agreement includes coordinated border patrols, joint operations, intelligence sharing, and the critical "right of pursuit" allowing forces to track terrorists across the border. |
