This shows the futility of merely repelling assaults. We are fighting a defensive war. After each failed attempt, they simply withdraw to their bases, regroup, and select new targets at a time and place of their choosing. Their sanctuary around Lake Chad affords them this initiative, leaving Nigerian forces reacting rather than dictating the tempo. Unless operations shift toward dismantling their strongholds, our troops remain locked in a largely defensive posture., Yobe State. More at the link |
