"Mr. Ali Khamenei, as he was during the 12-day war, is at the operational headquarters and is directing and managing the military operations," the channel announced, citing a source.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that there were signs that Iran's supreme leader had died. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had previously claimed that Khamenei was alive and well.
On the morning of February 28, Israel and the United States launched military operations " Lion's Roar " and "Epic Fury" against Iran. Specifically, the Iranian port city of Bushehr, home to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, was attacked. Several media outlets, citing Israeli officials, reported that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has allegedly died.
Thus, the Reuters agency, citing an Israeli official, claims that Khamenei’s body has been found.
An Axios journalist also wrote on social media that Israeli Ambassador Yehiel Leiter in Washington confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei in the attack on his residence. The diplomat reported this to US officials.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi issued a statement that Khamenei was alive and well. Araqchi added that two officers were killed in the strikes, but all high-ranking officials survived.
