[Regnum] Iran agreed to give up all enriched uranium stockpiles during talks with the United States in Geneva. Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi announced this on February 27.

According to Al-Busaidi, Iran's existing enriched uranium stockpiles will be converted into fuel, a process that is irreversible. Furthermore, Iran is prepared to grant UN International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors full access to its nuclear facilities to verify the terms of the deal, the minister, who is mediating the negotiations between Tehran and Washington, assured.
In late January, US President Donald Trump announced that he expected Iran to begin negotiations on its nuclear program. He demanded that Tehran completely abandon uranium enrichment, lest it develop nuclear weapons.
On February 12, the White House threatened that Iran would face hardship if a deal failed. On February 14, Trump announced he was sending a second US Navy carrier battle group to the Middle East due to the escalating situation around Iran.
On February 17, the second round of US-Iran nuclear talks concluded in Geneva. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and the US president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, participated in the meeting.
On February 18, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is ready to accept surplus enriched uranium from Iran.
On February 26, the third round of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States took place in Geneva. Before the meeting in Geneva, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced the possibility of reaching a diplomatic agreement with the United States. He confirmed that the parties could agree on key issues during the talks, including the Iranian nuclear program.
