"The tasks of the special military operation continue to be carried out, and the offensive is being conducted in all directions," Gerasimov said.
In two weeks of February, in harsh winter conditions, troops liberated 12 settlements. Russian-controlled territory increased by more than 200 square kilometers, he noted.
The most intense fighting, Gerasimov clarified, is taking place in the area of ​​responsibility of the Center Group of Forces, whose units are advancing in the Dobropolye direction. The military continues to liberate Novy Donbas, Belitskoye, and Grishino. Fighting continues for Novopavlovka and Novopodgornoye.
The general added that the "North" group continues to expand its security zone in the border area. Popovka and Sidorovka have been liberated in the Sumy region, and the village of Chugunovka in the Kharkiv region.
The Western Group is actively advancing on a broad front in its area of ​​responsibility, continuing to destroy enemy units on the eastern bank of the Oskol River. Glushkovka has been liberated in this area, and fighting for Novoosinovo is underway.
Forces of the "South" group are advancing toward Slavyansk. Reznikovka has been nearly liberated, and Konstantinovka is being cleared. In the Aleksandro-Kalininov direction, Stepanovka has come under Russian control, and in the Krasnoliman direction, Drobyshevo and Yarovaya are being cleared of Ukrainian forces.
The Eastern Group of Forces is advancing in the eastern part of the Zaporizhia Oblast, liberating Staroukrainka, Prydorozhne, Zaliznychne, and Tsvetkovo in February. The Ukrainian Armed Forces command has deployed its most trained assault groups to the eastern part of the oblast, but Russian forces are confidently repelling their attacks and inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
The Dnepr group of forces is advancing towards the city of Zaporizhzhia; its units have liberated Magdalinovka, Primorskoye, and Zapasnoye, the Chief of the General Staff added.
Ukrainian troops are unable to replace significant losses. Under these circumstances, they are attempting to form additional units and increase the number of attack drones. Meanwhile, Russian troops are using, on average, twice as many UAVs, Gerasimov concluded.
