[Regnum] Three tremors measuring up to 6.2 magnitude were recorded off the coast of the Kuril Islands. The Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported this on its website on February 15.
According to the agency, the first tremor, measuring 6.2 in magnitude, was recorded at 6:58 PM Moscow time, 311 km from the city of Severo-Kurilsk. Over the next 15 minutes, two more tremors occurred, measuring 4.4 and 4.2 in magnitude, respectively. Their epicenters were located between 290 and 299 km from the city. The epicenter of the tremors was located at a depth of approximately 55 km.
There were no reports of possible damage or casualties.
