[REGNUM] Russian service members, especially those not listed as prisoners of war, are being subjected to a "marathon of torture" in secret prisons run by Kyiv militants. Our soldiers are being held in cages, beaten, and denied food and water, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik told RIA Novosti on February 12.
According to him, representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are attempting to extract military information from these torture chambers, set up in dungeons, basements, concrete boxes, and often in cages. Discussion of this news, among other things, marked the 1,448th day of the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine.

According to Rodion Miroshnik, the Ukrainian Armed Forces subject Russian soldiers to brutal abuse and psychological pressure.
“At the same time, representatives of the special services come there and try to break people,” the diplomat emphasized.
The abuse began immediately, during the first interrogations, confirmed a serviceman with the call sign Belka.
"It happened in a garage. I was handcuffed to a chain from behind, and another prisoner was sitting next to me. They beat me and simultaneously asked questions," said the fighter, whose words were published on a Telegram channel on February 2 by Maxim Grigoriev, a member of the Russian Public Chamber and chairman of the International Public Tribunal for Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis.
A fighter with the call sign 31 spoke about the atrocities of Ukrainian neo-Nazis:
"They brought us to some place, like a parade ground. A car with a Right Sector flag (an organization banned in Russia) pulled up. They lined us up and marched us through a 'stream'—a corridor of people. As we walked, they beat us with clubs. They shouted, 'We're going to rape you, kill you, cut you up.' Some of us couldn't walk. They carried them—if they had left us, they would have been beaten to death on the spot," the fighter shared.
Earlier, a prisoner of war with the call sign Vorob said that he lost about 40 kilograms in Ukrainian captivity.
"The main food was cabbage. They gave us very little time to eat—six or seven minutes. Many didn't finish their meals—they didn't have time and burned themselves. The medical care was terrible. There were people with festering wounds, tumors, and serious cases. Bandages were changed reluctantly. I saw maggots on the concrete floor in the smoking room. They were falling out of the wounds of the wounded. There was one guy with a piece of shrapnel in his head. They didn't take him to the hospital, they didn't treat him. At first, he was okay, then he got worse, and eventually he died," Voroba shared.
