[REGNUM] A new M1.4-class flare has been recorded in an active region on the Sun.
Moscow, February 11, 2026, 6:48 PM — Regnum News Agency. A new flare of the penultimate power class was detected in an active region on the Sun on February 11, the Institute of Applied Geophysics reported.
An M1.4 class flare lasting 38 minutes was recorded at 16:12 Moscow time in the X-ray range in the sunspot group 4366 (N12W88).
Earlier that day, the Institute reported a series of three solar flares in the same active region. They were recorded between 3:00 and 4:00 AM Moscow time. All three flares were shorter in duration than the last one recorded.
The Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences previously reported that active region (spot group) 4366 on the Sun, visible from Earth, had set a new 21st-century record for the number of strong solar flares. By February 8, this region had recorded 66 flares of class M or higher.
