[KavkazUzel] Security forces detained a 43-year-old resident of the village of Kantyshevo for justifying the actions of militants killed in Chechnya during an attempt on the lives of law enforcement officers.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on February 6, the North Caucasus Directorate of the Russian National Guard reported that five local residents were detained in several districts of Ingushetia on suspicion of calling for terrorist activity.
According to security officials, a 43-year-old unemployed resident of the rural settlement of Kantyshevo posted a series of comments on his account on a popular messaging app, the Ingushetia newspaper reported today, citing the press service of the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs.Â
According to the expert analysis, these messages contain justification for the activities of a liquidated member of the Islamic State* terrorist organization, banned in Russia, and two of his accomplices, who operated in Chechnya and were neutralized during an attack on security forces.Â
Based on the collected materials, a criminal case was opened on the grounds of public justification of terrorism.
The detainee has been placed under a travel ban, Interfax reported.
