| It’s not a rights issue, and it is absolutely legal, so the law isn’t silent at all. Reddit is an open forum that anyone can access, right? So then the feds can, too. The participants were stupid. They got caught. Even closed fora can be accessed by local police and federal investigation agencies like the FBI, so long as they have legal authorization to do so. And certainly they can accept information submitted by private parties like Andy Ngo or Nate Friedman, using that to get legal authorization to conduct their own investigation. A key problem with the Steele Dossier was that its information was false, and the feds knew it. |
