[Regnum] A powerful explosion has been detected on the far side of the Sun, but the active center where it occurred will likely not survive until it reaches Earth. This was reported on February 6 by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"Another very powerful explosion on the far side of the Sun. This is of no significance, as active centers on the Sun currently last about a week. Almost certainly, only debris will reach Earth in a few days," the scientists explained.
The laboratory noted that region 4366, which is now located opposite the Earth, has approximately a day left to collect energy for the final explosion; otherwise, this region will die quietly.
Earlier, on February 3, 16 powerful solar flares occurred. Scientists noted that the active region responsible for the flares increased its area by 50% in just 24 hours, setting a new record for the number of strong events (classes M and X) in a single day.
