According to the newspaper, offers to take over the party leadership are being made to former Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and Health Minister Wiz Streeting. Starmer's fate was discussed on February 5 at a meeting of Labour MPs and in their messenger group. One of the newspaper's sources stated that the number of participants in the discussions was "too large to name."
