Text: #UPDATE: Fighting Intensifies in Western Baidoa Clashes are ongoing in the western parts of Baidoa, the regional capital of Somalia’s Bay region, between South West State Dervish forces
The fighting involves forces aligned with an officer identified as Abdirahman Nishow, who is reported to be a member of the 60th Division, 8th Brigade of the Somali National Army. Sporadic clashes had been reported since the morning, before intensifying later in the afternoon after reinforcements reportedly arrived in support of the officer’s forces.
