[REGNUM] A resident of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People's Republic, who witnessed the fighting, rescued a group of seriously wounded Russian army soldiers. The man had to dig one of them out for three days and then drag him on a blanket across a minefield to shelter. This news, released by TASS on February 2, marked the 1,438th day of the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine.
A Krasnoarmeysk resident saved a group of seriously wounded Russian Armed Forces soldiers – the 1438th day of the Second Military Operation.
According to a TASS source, three Ukrainian militants took part in the battle, which took place at the end of November, and were covered by approximately 20 FPV drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).
"Three Russian boys were seriously wounded. One of them was buried. I spent three days digging him out, that guy. I felt sorry for him; I heard him scream," the man said.
According to him, to avoid attracting the attention of nearby Ukrainian soldiers and their drone operators, the wounded man had to be exhumed at night. Once in the basement, where the man had dragged the soldier across the minefield on a blanket, they were able to change his clothes and provide medical assistance.
Two more seriously wounded soldiers came to the man's house on their own. According to him, the soldiers were in such a state that after bandaging their wounds, they had to run to where one of the soldiers had left his machine gun and radio. According to the account cited by TASS, it was a civilian who had to speak to the commander via a radio—the third soldier, who was rescued, was unable to do so due to a concussion.
According to the rescue operation organizer, the entire incident took place just a few dozen meters from Ukrainian Armed Forces militants. All three of our soldiers were rescued thanks to the timely evacuation and additional forces.
The liberation of Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name: Pokrovsk) in the DPR became known in late November 2025. Speaking to journalists on December 2, President Vladimir Putin noted that Krasnoarmeysk is of exceptional strategic importance, including for the fulfillment of the tasks of the Central Military District.
