Text: As external powers ramp up their intervention in Sudan, the warring Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are engaged in key battles in the central and eastern parts of the country. Over the last week, the SAF has gradually broken the RSF's siege of Dilling, a key town south of el Obeid, which is the SAF’s headquarters in central Sudan. SAF advances are conditions to fully reconnect Dilling, el Obeid, and Kadugli, the South Kordofan state capital, which would relieve pressure on el Obeid and create a potential second axis of advance toward the RSF’s center of gravity in western Sudan.
