Text: ISPR reports that coordinated militant attacks across multiple districts of Balochistan on Jan 31 were decisively repelled. The attacks killed 18 civilians in Gwadar and Kharan, while 15 security personnel were martyred during counterterrorism operations. Security forces neutralized 92 terrorists, including 3 suicide bombers. Earlier operations on Jan 30 in Panjgur and Harnai eliminated 41 more militants, taking the two-day total to 133. Clearance operations are ongoing. Initial intelligence indicates external coordination behind the attacks.
Text: Pakistan Army helicopters are conducting aerial surveillance while snipers are targeting fleeing Fitna al Hindustan militants. Local Baloch volunteers have also joined the operations against the BLA Fitna‑e‑Hindustan group. During clashes in the forests behind Konshqlat and Nazarabad, 3 more FAH militants were neutralized that totals to 56 kills. More at the link
The Baloch Liberation Army, or BLA, claims responsibility for the attacks, during which some of the banks were also robbed. It releases videos showing female fighters taking part in the attacks, apparently part of a propaganda to highlight the role of women among the militants. Shahid Rind, a spokesman for the Balochistan government, says most of the attacks were foiled. They come a day after the military said security forces this week raided two militant hideouts in the country’s southwest, killing 41 insurgents in separate gunbattles. | |
