[Regnum] A group of sunspots that caused a powerful flare on the far side of the Sun had almost completely disappeared by the time it emerged on the visible side of the star, disappointing scientists. This was reported on January 30 by the press service of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The press service emphasized that expectations of large active regions on the Sun proved disappointing. On January 24, they triggered a double or even triple explosion on the far side of the Sun. However, on the left side of the Sun, where, according to forecasts, huge, energetic sunspot groups were expected to appear, mere fragments emerged from the horizon toward Earth.
That would seem to be a good thing.
Scientists noted that large active centers in the regions of the Sun that had emerged onto the visible side were almost completely destroyed in less than a week.
On January 24, the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported a very large double explosion on the far side of the Sun. Scientists emphasized that it was impossible to determine its cause. The laboratory clarified that due to the lack of satellites on the far side, they could only speculate about what happened.
