Text: #ALERT: Airstrikes target al-Shabab positions in Somalia’s Middle Juba region Airstrikes targeted locations held by the militant group al-Shabab in the town of Kuunyo Barrow on Thursday, according to local witnesses. Residents said the strikes specifically hit bases and positions used by the group in and around Kuunyo Barrow. However, there has been no official confirmation of casualties or damage resulting from the operation. Kuunyo Barrow is one of the three largest towns currently under the control of al-Shabab and has in recent months become a key centre for the group’s security and operational activities. |
