The Government of Chad announced that seven Chadian soldiers were killed during an armed incursion into its territory by elements of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces. Authorities in N’Djamena strongly condemned the violation of national sovereignty, warned that any further attacks would prompt an immediate response, and reiterated Chad’s strict neutrality in the Sudanese conflict. In the same context, the Rapid Support Forces reportedly shelled the Sudanese border town of Al-Tina adjacent to Chad and redeployed reinforcements from South Darfur toward Kordofan, including tanks and electronic warfare equipment.
