[Regnum] Persian Gulf countries are strongly warning Washington against attempts to change the Iranian regime and against launching strikes on Tehran. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing officials from Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar.
The publication noted that the authorities of the three countries told US President Donald Trump that an attempt to overthrow the Iranian regime could shake oil markets and harm the American economy.
"Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman are most afraid of the consequences on their own soil," the author of the publication concluded.
On January 13, the US President called on the country's citizens and Washington's allies to leave Iran.
Trump also called on protesters in Iran to seize government buildings and promised Washington's assistance. He announced that he had canceled all meetings with Iranian officials.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Russia strongly condemns subversive external interference in the Islamic Republic's internal affairs. She emphasized that US threats to launch further strikes against Iran are absolutely unacceptable.
