Sad when a Democrat is the only one talking back to these people. Ben Shapiro is doing his best but he's just one man and can't control all of MAGA. They're called woke right (Netanyahu calls them woke Reich and that's a witty nickname that should catch on.

I would have said honours were even in the film clip — the young Jewish lefty, after complimenting Mr. Fishback for being a good guy, went in expecting to find Jew-hate among his followers. The young Fishback fan offered an obscure and ineffective insult in return, and both seemed satisfied with the nothingburgers they’d achieved — but without seeing the entire conversation in context, there’s no way to know. James Fishback is an interesting man: very much self-made, his mother was a Colombian immigrant and his 4th gen. Floridian father became a bus driver after his landscaping business went bankrupt, which he blamed on an influx of Haitians after the 2010 earthquake. Fishback himself dropped out of Georgetown University’s international finance program when hired by a private hedge fund, followed by forming his own investment fund a few brief years later. Frustrated, he said, by the leftwing biases of his high school’s debate club, while still in college he created the Incubate Debate league to provide training and tournaments at the middle school and high school level — presumably from a balanced or conservative approach, a noble desire indeed. On the other hand, he appears to have either inherited the antisemitism prevalent in the Latin world or is willing to coddle it to get voters, being fashionably suspicious of AIPAC and blaming Israel for the problems in Gaza, suggesting a possible parochialism to his outlook and experience despite playing with the big boys, if real. He appears to have turned to the Florida governor’s race after there was no role for him in the Trump administration, and he is clearly not the type to start at the bottom and humbly work his way up in politics, any more than he did in finance. Influencer he may be, but it appears that he is very far from the front runner in this race, the more so because young men, even when they have strong opinions on politics, are notorious about forgetting to actually vote. Ben Shapiro is absolutely not the only one on the Conservative side to push back against Jew hate. President Trump, Secretary Marco Rubio, Senator Ted Cruz, Governors Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbot, Victor Davis Hanson — they and many other Republicans and Conservatives push back openly and often. But it’s the haters that benefit from bot-magnification of their voices, an advantage somewhat negated by X’s recent “accidental” location revelations, and poll results that show many of the real fans on the conservative side are amused but not influenced by their favoured, carping influencers. Mr. Fishback, it seems to me, is running a vanity campaign while trying to figure out what to do with his excess energy that will make the world a better place beyond the debate thing — tikkun olam as the Jews say. I think that as he and the young, conservative boys and men he speaks to mature a little, they will realize they have much stronger logic tools than the simplistic negatives of Jew-hate as a shortcut for the very real problems they recognize and are fighting to fix. Like saying f*ck every third word, it’s not actually the sign of edgy manliness the young imagine. |
‘We don’t need them. We don’t like them’: Trump says MAGA has no room for antisemites
[IsraelTimes] US President Donald Trump says there is no room in his MAGA movement or the Republican Party for antisemites.
“I think we don’t need them. I think we don’t like them,” Trump tells The New York Times in an interview last week, whose full transcript was published on Sunday.
Asked if he condemns those in the conservative movement who have been espousing antisemitic views, Trump says, “certainly.”
“If you talk about the antisemitic views, there’s been nobody better for us. As an example, I just got the Israel award, which is the biggest award they give. It was just given to me. First time it was ever given to anybody outside of Israel,” he says.
Asked if he’ll condemn the far-right shock-jock and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, Trump says he doesn’t know who he is. One of the interviewers reminds him that he dined with Fuentes along with Kanye West in 2022.
“I had dinner with him, one time, where he came as a guest of Kanye West. I didn’t know who he was bringing. He said, ‘Do you mind if I bring a friend?’ I said, ‘I don’t care.’ And it was Nick Fuentes? I don’t know Nick Fuentes.”
Trump is then pressed on Paul Ingrassia, who he appointed deputy general counsel of the General Services Administration, even after a series of his offensive text messages, including one expressing sympathy for Nazism, were made public.
“I don’t know that. It’s possible. I have thousands of people working here,” Trump says.
“I have a daughter who’s married to a Jewish person. My daughter happens to be Jewish, beautiful, three grandchildren are Jewish. I’m very proud of them. I’m very proud of that whole family. I am the least antisemitic person probably there is anywhere in the world,” he adds.
