The Somali army has deployed in the northern regions, specifically in Las Anod, which belongs to the North Eastern State and is only 251 km away from the cities claimed by the tribal separatist group supported by the UAE.
Apparently claimed by both Puntland (by blood relations with the local tribes or something) and Somaliland (because of where Somaliland’s borders were when a British colony), Somalia proper sees an opportunity and is doing its best to take advantage of it.
This comes ahead of the Somali President's visit to the North Eastern State, previously known as the Somali Region, of which approximately 45% is now under the control of the federal government.

The deployment of the Somali elite unit "Gaashaan" with the red beret represents a federal message and push to integrate the disputed Sool region amid ongoing rivalry between the Dhulbahante groups (supporters of Mogadishu) and the separatist "Iskuq" group (supporters of UAE-backed Somaliland).
